Job Overview

Next Generation Director

The Next Generation Director will serve as a key player in both the staff team and congregation. This role will be crucial in shaping the spiritual landscape of our youth across all stages. They will create a nurturing and theologically rich environment through relational ministry, engaging events, and in-depth Bible studies. They will also elevate the capabilities of our leaders through training and will be instrumental in fostering a spirit of unity and excellence.

REQUIREMENTS

Skills: Organized, energetic, attention to detail, masterful written and verbal communication, contextual teaching, proactive, people-oriented, customer-service mindset, collaborative approach, team builder, mentorship, flexible, developer, driven, event programming, warmth, professional, and engaging

Experience: At least 5 years of successful youth ministry, church or parachurch

Education: College Degree (preferred).

Gifts: Leadership, Shepherding, Teaching

Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct Ministry

Take the main lead in the youth ministries with a hands-on approach. Focus on fostering deep relational connections and providing robust biblical education. Orchestrate excellent and impactful ministry events, Bible studies, and trips that resonate with students, encouraging not only attendance but active participation and spiritual growth. Continually adapt these ministries to stay relevant to today’s youth culture and in line with Fellowship’s mission. (50%)

Equipping Staff

Envision and oversee the Next Generation Department holistically, supervising, supporting, and developing the Next Generation staff team. Implement robust training, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to facilitate ministry and discipleship effectively. Establish and maintain a continuous training program that upholds high standards, particularly in areas of safety, conduct, and care when working with children and youth. (25%)

Village Building

Spearhead volunteer recruitment efforts, aiming to build a close-knit community of volunteers who are deeply invested in the ministry’s success. Cultivate a culture of team camaraderie, continuous improvement, and excellence, ensuring all team members are confident and competent in their roles. Institute a cycle of recruitment, training, and retention that keeps the volunteer team growing, skilled, and aligned with Fellowship’s values and standards. (25%)
