2012 New England Regional Conference Day 2

Whether you live in New England or not, there were lots of reasons for Christians everywhere to rejoice last weekend. The Back Bay Event Center in Boston was packed full of pastors and church leaders, praying and pleading with God to move radically in the hearts of New Englanders. You can read a summary of Day 1.

Day 2 was packed full of singing and preaching with the hope that the gospel would shape churches in New England. It was clear that the attenders were not interested in merely being inspired and refreshed—though that happened—but they were interested in the Lord of the harvest starting a movement of his Spirit in their churches.

Day 2 started with D. A. Carson on “The Gospel Shape of Scripture”:

John Piper on “The Gospel-Shaped Heart”:

Panel: John Piper, David F. Wells, and Richard Lints on “Our Cultural Idols and the Gospel” (Moderator: Collin Hansen)

Panel: D. A. Carson, Stephen Um, and Gordon Hugenberger on “The One-Story Plotline of the Bible” (Moderator: Jared Wilson)

Stephen Um on “The Gospel-Shaped Community”:

What an awesome conference!!! It was great to see familiar faces from the Plant New England conference last year. Hearing other believers share on their labors for the gospel was encouraging and motivating. My heart is for New England. Oh that NE would be stirred up because we open our mouths with this message of hope to love the Lord with a white hot passion for God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Christ Memorial Church crew (about 25 of us) were all overflowing with joy on the drive home to Vermont!
    Thank you!
