From the Center for the Study of New Testament Manuscripts:

Today the Center for the Study of New Testament Manuscripts (CSNTM) announces that it is now available on iTunes U, a dedicated area of the iTunes Store ( that offers free audio and video content from leading educational institutions.

The Center for the Study of New Testament Manuscripts (CSNTM) has always been committed to helping others understand the reliability of our New Testaments, the history of translations, the study of the text, and significant figures who have made this possible.

Beginning today, CSNTM is making a series of videos concerning New Testament manuscripts, textual criticism, history of the New Testament, and expert commentary on key verses available as a free download on iTunes U.

Featured in the videos are interviews and footage shot around the world of important people involved in the work of the Center. Dr. Daniel B. Wallace will also be featured as he explains important aspects in the study of the text of the New Testament.

What a great resource! Thank you for posting this!

  2. The aim is highly laudable :-), but is this content available any other way as well? iTunes doesn’t run on all platforms (e.g. Linux) and audio from it is often encoded in proprietary formats such as MP3, where the owners of the format make legal threats against people who try and write or distribute open source software which plays it. I can’t even see what’s available, because viewing that link above requires iTunes.

It would be great if CSNTM were to also make the content available for download in an unencumbered format, perhaps from their website.

Thanks for the interest. Keep checking back on CSNTM’s website ( for updates. We are currently in the process of creating a study resource including DVD’s of all the videos and a study guide/workbook to go along with the videos. The target price point for these materials is $50.

One way to keep up with CSNTM related news is to sign up for the free “Friends of CSNTM” monthly newsletter. (
