This is a real picture taken on Wednesday of DeYoung child #6 at 20 weeks.

“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well” (Psalm 139:13-14).

A little life, a tiny person, a precious gift.

Another royal baby known and knitted together by the King.

We are very blessed.

No matter the size or condition of your children–inside or outside the womb, big or little, strong or weak–enjoy your blessings today. Pray for them and protect them. The sweetest, smallest hands salute you.

Kevin, I have been reading your blog for several years. Thank you for your posts. This one today just made me smile and rejoice in my heart. I am a Mom to eight. My husband and I just rejoice in our blessings every day. Three of ours are gone now – two moved away with jobs and one at college – so we are savoring the time with the other five at home. It goes so fast. Enjoy those young years, but know the blessing does not end there – it is absolutely incredible to watch them grow into godly young adults. 3 John 1:4 So happy for the DeYoung family – congratulations!
P.S. my adult boys follow your blog and one just finished reading “The Hole in our Holiness” and recommended it to me!

No, your sixth one? Really? Baby bump! What names are you thinking about? Leroy, Temeka, Ray, Frank, Gertrude?

  13. So what looks like an adult arm and hand giving the thumbs up is really the baby’s body and arm? Wow!

  14. Hope Henchey says:

Congratulations! Wow, six!? I wanted to let you know I was really encouraged by an interview I read with you on StartYourFamily about about the benefits of having babies early. My husband and I prayerfully decided to start pursuing children only one month into marriage (and God opened my womb two weeks later!) and sometimes we really struggled with regret or confusion over our decision. Your wisdom in the interview, and your appreciation for life here on your blog, has really been helpful to us!

  15. Rhonda says:

Congratulations! I read this in NICU with my three-day-old daughter in my arms–brought tears to my eyes for the umpteenth time today. So happy for you and your family!

  16. Daryl Little says:

We also have six and often feel undeservedly blessed. (And often wish they’d fight a little less…)

    God is good!
