Job Overview

The Children and Administration Minister will be employed by Riverview Baptist Church and will focus on glorifying God by making disciples and loving people—especially for RBC’s children. This will include a strategic  emphasis on deeply investing in the lives of children and their families so that they learn to follow Jesus Christ for  a lifetime, as well as leading RBC to operate with administrative excellence. This is a full-time, salaried position. 

Job Description

Supervisory Relationship 

– Direct Supervisor – Life Groups and NextGen Pastor

-Senior Leader- Senior Pastor 

Qualifications  

– Preferred children’s ministry or administrative experience in a local church. 

– Preferred master’s degree from an accredited SBC seminary.  

– Required bachelor’s degree in Christian ministry, early education, discipleship, or related field. 

– Member of Riverview Baptist Church. 

Goals and Expectations: Children’s Ministry:  

Administrative Responsibilities:  

  • Foster a safe, clean, fun, and engaging environment in KidZone by organizing rooms,  providing necessary supplies, and focusing on creativity. 
  • Manage and mail out the extended care schedule. 
  • Print all necessary materials for children’s ministry.
  • On Sunday mornings & Wednesday evenings, pick-up and review all check-out records  
  • Uphold all of the policies and procedures associated with the children’s ministry. 
  • Coordinate children’s choir efforts with the worship and outreach pastor.  

Sundays & Wednesdays:  

  • Oversee KidZone on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings  
  • Recruit and develop children’s Life Group leaders.  
  • Recruit & develop a rotation of caring adults for extended care on Sunday mornings. 
  • Manage part-time paid childcare employees as needed.  
  • Set-up and maintain KidZone check-in stations.  
  • Prepare children’s bulletins, Sunday morning life group curriculum, and extended care curriculum.  

Childcare: 

  • Recruit and provide workers as needed for childcare for events and meetings.  
  • Be present for and oversee all childcare activities. 

Special Events:  

  • Lead Riverview’s effort in hosting major children’s events such as VBS or Fall Festival.  
  • Develop new events to facilitate spiritual growth in RBC’s children.  
  • Facilitate training for children’s workers as a part of the Life Group Summit.  

Provide Organization and Support to Riverview’s Faith @ Home Ministry 

  • Support Riverview’s vision for faith @ home ministries.  
  • Maintain and update the faith @ home center as needed under direction of the Lifegroups & NextGen Pastor.
  • Plan and coordinate specific events throughout the year to bring an emphasis on building strong families. 

Goals and Expectations: Executive Support 

Provide Administrative Support To Senior Pastor  

  • Assist the Senior Pastor with clerical responsibilities as he facilitates the annual strategic planning process including evaluation of ministry performance; development of key objectives and tactics; and establishment of yearly goals.
    • Provide Administrative support-diligently maintaining accurate volunteer and member information in the church management software and generating documents for vision casting, meetings, etc.
  • Maintain a set of key performance measures(KPM’s) that provide the Senior Pastor, elders, and church staff with ongoing visibility of the effectiveness of all functional areas of the church.
    • KPMs should be maintained with a view toward preparing the congregation toward multiplication, and updated weekly so that the senior pastor can use this information in presentations as needed.

Other: 

  • Have a teachable spirit being able to receive feedback and redirection with a spirit of openness and  willingness to learn. 
  • Develop a strong working relationship with the staff of Riverview. 
  • Model a godly lifestyle and model spiritual leadership to the Riverview community. 
  • Participate in leadership/staff meetings as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
