Some church leaders who are using The Gospel Project for Adults have asked what  will do regarding Christmas. To accommodate groups hoping for a Gospel Project lesson with an explicit Christmas focus, we’ve developed a lesson that keeps us on track as we journey through the Old Testament and also points us forward to Jesus.

We chose Isaiah 11:1-10 as the textual basis for this lesson. It’s a messianic prophecy that shows us the kind of King who came and who will come again.

Here’s my prayer for those who use this lesson this Christmas season:

May it shed light on the meaning of God’s Word, lift up and proclaim Jesus Christ as its ultimate fulfillment, and call you to mission in Jesus’ name so that all nations would hear the greatest story ever told, that many people would repent of sin and believe in Jesus, and that God would receive glory both now and for eternity.

If this is your first time to see The Gospel Project firsthand, then sign up for the Pilot Project. You can access and preview, at no cost, sample lessons from the Adults, Students, and Kids materials. Feel free to let us know what you think.
