Kindle Deal: Contending with Christianity’s Critics by Paul Copan and William Lane Craig. $0.99.

Seven of the best articles I came across this week:

1. Ruth Graham in Slate – The New Culture of LifeIf this election has you depressed about pro-life prospects, you’ve got plenty of reasons for hope in this excellent analysis of a growing, diversifying pro-life generation.

2. Unfit for PowerMarvin Olasky and World Magazine editors explain their reasoning on why they reject Trump. This will be a costly decision, for they will likely lose subscribers, but the cost associated with their position makes their stand even stronger. If you do not subscribe to World, you should. I’ve read this magazine since I was teenager. It is always insightful and informative, and provides a conservative Christian take on world news and events.

3. Tim Keller – How to Restore Civility in the Public Square. It won’t start in the courtroom (though the courts are important) but primarily in neighborhoods and at the local level.

4. Anthony Bradley – You Are the Manure of the Earth. Bradley makes the case for seeing salt in terms of its fertilizing quality.

5. Mez McConnell – A Transaltlantic Elegy for an American HillbillyHow do you describe this reflection on J. D. Vance’s work? Heartbreaking, moving, angering, sad, hopeful. All at once.

6. Karen Swallow Prior – Call Out Locker Room Talk for the Sin That It IsKaren is spot on here. We can’t excuse inconsistent principles in our politicians or in each other.

7. Vince Bacote – Race in America: 4 Critical Reminders as We Move Toward HealingHow do Christians respond to the heightened attention and attendant vexation about the crisis of race in America today?
