Book Club: The good folks over at Gospel-Centered Discipleship are reading This Is Our Time together. You can join the conversation here.
Kindle Deal: Michael Card’s excellent Biblical Imagination Series on the Gospels is only $2.99. Here’s Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
Seven of the best articles I came across this week:
1. Why North Koreans are rejecting Kim Jong-un and turning to Christ. Here’s a bright spot in a couple weeks of bad news!
2. Jennifer Tiedemann and Karen Marsico – Americans’ Declining Interest in History. What it’s doing to museums and sites like Colonial Williamsburg.
3. Tim Keller and James K. A. Smith – Pastoral Care as Public Theology. Any time I see either of these names, I know it’s worth reading. To see both the names? No question.
4. Sophia Lee – Gentrification for All? Good interviews with people on both sides of a growing debate.
5. Sports Illustrated – The Complicated Life and Death of Hideki Irabu. Compelling, tragic story about someone I’d never heard of. A well-written, moving profile.
6. Jonathan Pennington – The Life of the Professor. Good thoughts here on the life of the mind, growing as a teacher, and the cultivation of virtue.
7. Scot McKnight – Preaching Cheating. I’m with Scot on this one. It’s unethical to plagiarize sermons.
