Kindle Deal: 131 Christians Everyone Should Know by Mark Galli. $2.99.

Seven of the best articles I came across this week:

1. Justin Taylor – 14 Findings from a Landmark Study of Religious Affiliation in America. These statistics help us know the context in which we are called to serve.

2. Sarah Eekhoff Zylstra – 1 in 3 American Evangelicals is a Person of Color. The number of nonwhite Protestants has grown so large that the group has surpassed white mainline Protestants, and has nearly caught up with white evangelical Protestants.

3. Mark Regnerus – Christians are part of the same dating pool as everyone else. That’s bad for the ChurchIt is not science that is secularizing Americans, but sex.

4. Mindy Belz – Where Gridlock Kills. Victims of ISIS face a fast-closing window of opportunity in Iraq, their prospects dimmed by politicking and paralysis gripping Republican leaders in Washington.

5. Natalie Neysa Alund – Houston Family Finds Blessings in Clean Up After Harvey. The number of people affected by Harvey is so large that we can see it as just a statistic. Here’s profile of how one family has dealt with the storm.

6. Jon Haidt – In Defense of Amy Wax(The professor under fire is not related to me, as far as I know. We are at a pivotal moment in history when it comes to academic freedom and the continuation of logic-based, rather than politically-based, argumentation.)

7. Aaron Earls – What does a healthy writer, reader, publisher relationship look like? Lots of wisdom here.

Bonus: A review of the CSB Reader’s Bible. I love Reader’s Bibles that do away with chapter and verse numbers and all ancillary material. I had a hand in the design of the newly released CSB Reader’s Bible. Here is a detailed review with plenty of pictures.
