There are just a few weeks left in the decade. For arts and culture nerds like me, that means lists. Lots of them. At TGC I have been revisiting the 2010s decade through a series of list articles in recent months, including the “Best New Worship Songs of the 2010s,” “Best Christian Albums of the 2010s,” and the “Best Films About Faith from the 2010s.” On my personal blog I have also listed more end-of-decade favorites (films, albums, books, TV shows). My decade in review concludes—fittingly for the Christmas season—with my picks for the 10 best Advent albums of the last 10 years.

There are many reasons I love looking back and celebrating the best of a decade. One big one is that we move so fast in today’s world, and we are overwhelmed with so much, that we struggle to remember anything good, true, and beautiful, let alone celebrate and return to it years later. These sorts of lists, I hope, help you wade through the glut and find your way to more good, true, and beautiful things. Now…on to my “best of 2019” lists.
